Is the tram wheelchair accessible??
Very fun experience riding the tram to the top of the mountain. Be prepared every time the car goes by a tower. It rocks and sways. Once you get to the top the views are very nice. it’s best to go during winter so you can play and enjoy the snow
MoreA must do attraction. About a 10 minute ride up the mountain where you can eat in the restaurants. You can take the trails if you are up to it. Some of the trails are very strenuous be prepared. Remember to bring a jacket gets chilly on top of the mountain. We bought our tickets at the main station that is also where you board to go up on the cable car. The cable car spins slowly around so you get a spectacular view of the area.
MoreDefinitely worth the time and cost. Views from the top were spectacular and cost of the tram was quite reasonable. The basic trails at the upper team station aren't difficult and provide really beautiful scenery
MoreThis is an amazing ride up and down the mountain. You get to see everything because it has a revolving floor. When you get to the top, the views are fantastic! You can take a walk and go on trails. You can also take a sled to pull your kids on the snow. The staff is also very knowledgeable and friendly!
MoreAwesome place to enjoy the tramway and the aerial view you see from the notch 3 and 4 are awesome ( you will have to walk close to a mile after reaching the top). Winters are best to see the snow. You have a small place for skiing, but you will have to get your own stuff out there. Recently renovated and Fully functional restaurant is available at the top. Mobile signals are available only at few points. WiFi available near the reception and the restaurant areas. Best time of the day to visit is either early in the morning (To get quick parking and to kill the wait time for tramway) or after 4PM.
MoreVery fun activity for all ages!! We did the Ride and Dine, and enjoyed everything about it - we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food we got with this combo ticket. Amazing views. If you are prone to motion sickness, take a Dramamine or something before the ride up 🤐
MoreFabulous, can't say enough about it. The ride up is smooth & scenic & the view from above is spectacular. If you are visiting for the first time, or have not taken the ride up, you must do it @ least once. You will not regret it!If you enjoy picnics, I suggest back packing a light lunch & water to take along. There are fast food options or the lovely restaurant with a view (where isn't there a view?) However it is very pricey. You have the choice & whatever you choose, you will have a wonderful day. Don't forget . . . there is hiking with wonderful trails, but please prepare for the cold nights & remember, even when weather is cold day or night, you still need lots of water! Enjoy!
MoreAmazing views! Awesome tram ride up and then back down! We did a 4 mile round trip trail (with shorts and tshirt -would recommend at least a jacket) and it was amazing. With amazing views and a trail that will make you feel accomplished. We had plenty of snacks and water (and needed it). The views from mountain top station were pretty amazing but the prices were as expected from a tourist spot.
MoreGreat ride up the mountain with breathtaking views. I'm not totally shot with heights but the ride up didn't bother me at all. The floor of the car does a 360 rotation so you can catch all the great views. It was a fun visit.
MoreLuv it. Take some time to read about all the amenities. It can get very crowded. If you purchase your tickets on the spot your wait time can be up to an hour. They take pictures of you (family) for a price, just like at a Theme park. Winter season is gorgeous with all the snow, it gets super chilly. Restaurant (at the top of the mountain) has a bar, decent dining and hot cocoa to enjoy during the cold season. In the warmer months the hiking trails are awesome, get ready for an early start some of the trails are not moderate. There are Rangers and maps if you have questions at the top of the mountain. Try going during the week. Stay late too, the lights coming down off the tram are very nice. Enjoyable experience. Can be a romantic date guys!
MoreTotally worth it but expect some wait times (the reason behind the four instead of five stars). Our wait time going up was around 2 hours and our wait time going down was 20-30 minutes or so. This was on a weekend so might be better on weekdays. That said, beautiful views!
MoreAwesome tramway. One of the best places to visit in the world. In winter time around Christmas, it does tend to get over crowded. So, it's recommended that you arrive at the parking lot by 8 am to have a chance of making it to the top in decent time. The views at the top are mind blowing, especially in the winter if it snows a lot. One can go for a long hike even or just hang out at the top and enjoy a great meal at the restaurant. In the summer, there is at least 50* change in temperature at the valley vs at the top. That was the main reason for setting up the tram way to allow people to escape the harsh summers of Palm Springs.
MoreI loved my trip here! The view is the most beautiful views I ever seen! I was smiling the whole time I was here. The staff was friendly and there were no issues in my trip here. I will recommend to the people that never been here to come give it a try; it is an experience you will never forget! Best time to go is when there is snow, you will take very beautiful pictures of the landscapes here. It not pricey either it is about $26.95 for the ride and if you want to ride and dine its $36
MoreIt was everything I'd been told: breathtaking ascent (yes, scared me half to death)(but totally worth it!), amazing views, good food, friendly visitors and staffing. Gift shops were among best I've ever seen. Many quality offerings. Entire mountain's a well run operation.Hoping future trips to the top might have even more nature exhibition with education/information focus.
MoreWe got there at 10am when it open and there was plenty of parking and we got on the 10:20 tram. When we got up there, there wasn't that much to do for a six year old. It's a lot of walking. Next time, I would leave my son at home, because the trails looked beautiful. Great for hikers. Hot chocolate at the cafe was delicious.
MoreThis is a must for a Palm Springs visit. Beautiful views of the valley and the canyon while ascending and descending. The trails still had some snow, but we could make to notch 3 on the Desert View trail, which is a short one. It’s about 0.75 miles to that point. The view there was the best we saw, though clouds were approaching. We got to the Tram at about 10:30 a.m. and only had to wait 10 minutes for a lift up.
MoreThe views are gorgeous and the experience superb! Do try their twilight package. You can see breathtaking views of sunset and city lights. We ended up going on a cloudy day so we couldn't see the sunset. Make sure you see the weather forecast before you book tickets.
MoreWorth the wait. Buy a ticket and see an amazing forest in the middle of the desert. It's great for kids/adults ect. If you being hiking gear, especially walking sticks water & comfy shoes, and come prepared the park at the top of the mountain will reward you with amazing sights. Also bring a coat it gets chilly!
MoreI loved everything about this place. The tramway is thrilling and the view from the top is so gorgeous and the staff is very nice too!
MoreFantastic place to visit. Worth every dollar it costs. Don't miss it.Nice and friendly staff. With lots of knowledge. The views are "to die for"!!!Enjoyed the food we had there.Bring a jacket or sweater when visiting...it gets a whole bunch colder up there.
MoreWe are staying in Palm Springs and decided to take the aerial tramway. We did it on a Friday and was not very busy. The tram ride is great and the view from the top of the station is inspiring. The only down side apparantly right now they are remodeling and a lot of stuff is closed. You can still hike and hang out but it definitely will be 5 stars when the remodeling is done.
MoreStriking journey up almost 7000 ft. You go from warm desert to an Alipine climate like Lake Arrowhead. Truly stunning views, miles and miles of hiking trails up on top and four nice restaurant options at the mountaintop station. Be sure to bring warm clothing!
MoreAvoid at all costs over the holidays (Christmas/New Year's)! They close online ticket purchasing and it took us over 2 hours just to buy tickets, and when we got them, we had to wait another 3.5 hours for our tram time slot. That was over 5 hours of just waiting: waiting in traffic to get there, waiting in line for tickets, waiting in our car for the tram time. Once we got up the mountain, the views were beautiful and hiking trails are well maintained. The people are all pleasant, and it was a generally good time. The waiting beforehand is what brings this down to 3 stars.
MoreCustomer service is good. Way too many people on the Holiday or weekend. Please look at their website ahead to book ticket or you will be expecting to wait 1-2 hours at the site. The staff was nice enough to refund our ticket. 5 star for refund and good service.
MoreFantastic views, great hikes, excellent way to cool off from the desert heat. Easy hike to desert views, 11 miles round trip hike to the top if Mount San Jacinto, as well as the way back down for the brave C2C Cactus to the Clouds hikers/runners. French dip (brisket with horseradish) after the hike was really good!
MoreNice history well done. Major maintenance underway. The video presentation area was lame. Old screen, old chairs. Very informative video. Greeters floating around would be nice. Dress like you have some sense. It's the mountains.
MoreAnother exhilarating tram ride up the mountain to the Mt San Jacinto state park. We enjoyed the valley and canyon views as well as a tasty luncheon at the restaurant. The visitor center is still undergoing renovations and the dining room was temporarily relocated to the second level.
MoreWent here with a big group of kids and adults about 50. It was not snowing on the day of but it was very windy. The snow is still pretty soft and the kids had fun with snow sledging. The walk from the base down to the trails are easy on the way down but it's pretty laboring on the way back after a long day of walking. Overall the place is pretty clean and safe. Plenty of parkings and there are shuttles to take you up from parking lots to the tram base. $10 parking.
MoreSo much fun. I highly recommend this place to everyone. All the staff were so nice. Great gift shops and restaurant. Oh and a great bar aka Irish ☘️ Coffee ☕️
Moregreat views at the top, crowded midday weekends from ~12-1. not much to do while waiting at base station. not much room inside for waiting, but large outdoor decks in back. expect high prices (~$5 dollars for tea or hot chocolate at mountain station, $30 dollars for 'large' pizza). Tram operators make the ride up and back down fun.
MoreI’ve only taken this once, and it was a lot of fun both ways. It had been hot in Palm Springs, then we reached San Jacinto and there was snow in patches on the ground. It was lovely. On the way up, it was mid day, and we had an excellent view of Castle rocks; on the way down, it was nighttime, and the tram operator turned off the lights halfway down and we had a massive tickle fight in the car. It was one of the best times I’ve ever had.
MoreThis experience is like no other. In the desert, drive up a hill, park, get on tram, see beautiful scenery, get out and be in a snow covered mountain setting. This is a great day trip. Engineering/Construction marvel. Dave your appetite for the restaurant at the top!
MoreThis is one of my favorite attractions when traveling to Palm Springs. Beautiful going up the tram, very spacious. Can get crowded during the busy season. Gorgeous hiking once you’re up there. Highly recommend!
MoreThis place is worth every penny. I suggest you bring your own snacks. there are some amazing views. But you have to hike for them. And you have to look for them on the map. Some of the stuff is outdated. They have a video in a little theater that looks like it is from 20 years ago still in 480p. But somebody, in their infinite wisdom decided to try and display it in HD. so not only is it in bad resolution, but it is all stretched out and distorted.
